BSWA is working actively to evaluate conservation and restoration strategies and establish a long-term stewardship plan for the Big Spring Creek. It is our goal to restore the Big Spring to its historical prominence as a world class, naturally reproducing brook trout stream and to protect its environment for the lasting enjoyment of residents, neighbors, and visitors.
Examples of programs under consideration by BSWA include: a green way along the stream featuring native plants, birding areas, and hiking paths; a fishing facility for the handicapped; and educational seminars on the history and nature of the Big Spring Creek. Some programs have already been started including stream clean-ups and educational programs.
