Research
Scientific research is the foundation of the Big Spring Watershed Association. BSWA was founded in the wake of a scientific study which proved that over the years the stream was dying due to the numerous hatcheries from the state (Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission) and private sources (for a summary of this original research: Ecosummary: Bioassessment Report An Ecological Survey of Big Spring Creek with Emphasis the Effects of Fish Hatchery Effluent by Black and Macri). The BSWA conducts rigorous scientific studies in the ecological, chemical, and geological realms. Below you will find a list of scientists who work with, and who are associated with the BSWA. If you have any questions you may contact them by email.
